College for Kids:   Prek-8th Grade

Welcome to the inspiring journey of College for Kids, an educational initiative that emerged from the roots of a program known as Reaching Higher. It all began in 2010 with a passionate commitment to help students achieve their appropriate reading levels. At Reaching Higher, ten students would engage in one-on-one sessions with dedicated volunteers for two hours every Monday through Friday, focusing on enhancing their fluency and expanding their vocabulary.

As time passed, our dedicated staff harbored a vision for a more comprehensive and transformative educational experience—one that would empower students to excel not only academically but also spiritually and emotionally. It was from this earnest desire that College for Kids was born in 2013!

College for Kids is a dynamic four-week summer day camp dedicated to nurturing the potential of approximately 100 students, spanning from preK to 8th grade. Our daily journey begins with a shared breakfast, setting the stage for a day filled with exploration and growth. In the mornings, students are guided by certified teachers who provide expert instruction in Math, English Language Arts, and Bible studies, laying a strong foundation for their academic journey.

Following a nourishing lunch, our young learners embark on an exciting adventure that encompasses a wide range of activities. From exploring the art of Photography to embracing the spirit of teamwork in Basketball, and even mastering essential life skills like Cooking, every moment is a chance for our students to discover their passions and talents.

At College for Kids, we believe in more than just education; we believe in fostering well-rounded individuals who are prepared to tackle the challenges of today’s world with confidence and resilience.
