Our Oaks Ministries’ Neighbors
At Oaks Ministries, we believe in the power of proximity—being present with our neighbors, walking together in trust, and building long-term relationships rooted in love, dignity, and mutual transformation.
Where we serve
We primarily serve families living in the East Boundary and Laney Walker neighborhoods of downtown Augusta. These communities are rich in history, culture, and resilience. Many families have lived here for generations and are deeply invested in the life and well-being of their neighborhoods.
Our Story
Breaking Barriers, Building Hope
Families in these areas often face significant barriers: limited access to quality education, safe after-school care, job opportunities, and consistent community support. Many students attend Title I schools, and most of the families we serve are working hard to provide stability while navigating economic hardship.
Our role is to partner, empower, and walk alongside. We believe that every student—regardless of zip code—deserves the opportunity to thrive spiritually, academically, and emotionally. That belief drives our commitment to serve in ways that are relational, consistent, and rooted in the hope of the Gospel.

Partnership with Walton Communities
We’re especially grateful for our close partnership with Walton Communities. Through their generous support and shared commitment to holistic community development, we operate Adventure Centers at two of their properties:
Walton Oaks Adventure Center
Walton Green Adventure Center
At these centers, we provide safe, welcoming after-school spaces where students receive homework help, enjoy meals, and engage in enrichment activities that encourage creativity, confidence, and Christ-like character.
These centers serve as more than program sites—they are vibrant community hubs where students are seen, known, and celebrated.
