The Oaks Ministries’ Story

At Oaks Ministries, our mission is simple but powerful: to empower the students of downtown Augusta to become Christ-centered leaders who transform their communities with the hope of the Gospel.

Since our beginning,

we’ve been committed to walking alongside students and families in under-resourced neighborhoods—offering consistent, Christ-centered presence and programs that nurture identity, leadership, and purpose.

Every week, students gather at our after-school Adventure Centers, join mentors through our Urban Leadership Project, and develop real-world skills through the Oaks Internship Program.

Each summer, over 100 students participate in College for Kids, a day camp where they grow spiritually, academically, and socially while being surrounded by caring mentors and supportive peers.

We believe that every student is created in the image of God and deserves to be known, loved, and equipped. That’s why our programs are designed not just to “serve,” but to build lasting relationships—helping students:

We Help Students to

Root themselves in their identity as sons and daughters of the King,
Grow practical skills that prepare them for school, work, and life, and
Walk alongside mentors who help them create a vision for the future and take the steps to pursue it.

Isaiah 61:3

What’s In A Name

The name Oaks Ministries comes from Isaiah 61:3—“That they may be called Oaks of Righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”

Our prayer is that the students of Oaks Ministries would become strong, steady, and spirit-filled—planted by the Lord to glorify Him and transform their city.
