Urban Leadership Project

Leadership Training for Mentors:

Urban Leadership Project

Welcome to the Urban Leadership Project, where middle and high school students embark on a transformative journey of growth, faith, and community. Here's a glimpse into what our program offers.

Weekly Bible Studies with Mentors: Our program centers around meaningful connections between students and mentors. Every week, middle and high school students come together to engage in enriching Bible studies led by their mentors. It's an opportunity to explore and deepen their faith while building lasting relationships.

Monthly Gatherings at the Depot: On the first Tuesday of each month, all our students converge at the Depot within First Presbyterian Church. Here, they enjoy quality time together, share a delicious dinner, and receive spiritual guidance through God's Word. It's a momentous occasion where our community comes together to grow and connect.

Small Group Sessions: Throughout the remaining Tuesdays of the month, our students meet in small groups with their dedicated mentors at various locations. Here, they dive into the Bible, acquire essential life skills, and share moments of joy and camaraderie. These small groups provide a nurturing environment for holistic growth.

Our Vision: At the heart of the Urban Leadership Project is a vision to empower young individuals. We aspire to help them recognize their inherent worth as image bearers, equip them with vital life skills, and nurture their faith in Christ. Through these connections and experiences, we aim to foster well-rounded, confident, and resilient young leaders who are poised to make a positive impact on the world.

Mentorship Opportunities: Are you passionate about shaping the future and making a difference in the lives of youth? We are actively seeking mentors aged 21 and over who are willing to commit to at least one year of building relationships with middle and high school students. Our ideal mentors are individuals who love Jesus, possess a deep desire to engage with and serve young people, and can dedicate a minimum of 5 hours each month to mentorship.

By joining our team of mentors, you'll play an integral role in nurturing the potential of these remarkable young minds. Your guidance and support can help them navigate life's challenges, discover their purpose, and grow in their faith journey.

The Urban Leadership Project is not just a program; it's a community of caring individuals dedicated to empowering the leaders of tomorrow. Join us in this exciting endeavor as we shape lives, nurture faith, and build lasting connections. Together, we can make a lasting impact on the future!

By volunteering or mentoring with Oaks Ministries at Hornsby Elementary, you become a part of a transformative journey that not only impacts individual students but also contributes to the betterment of our community as a whole. Together, we can ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed academically and beyond.

Join us in making a difference in the lives of these young learners today!
